  2. I want to print off the present issf. Olympic skeet rules. but dammed if I can find them, I know the sequence and gun mount rule but the finer points like high and low shot together ,three attempts the rule might be different from English/national skeet. does anyone know where I can find them.
  3. ok stevo I will do that ,just as good I suppose. thanks,
  4. I am thinking of having a go at Olympic skeet as I do a fair amount of English skeet, but I've tried to find on the net the issf tape you sew on the skeet vest under the elbow for gun down position, where do you buy them from or don't they bother now.
  5. So its a pole 4120mm high with a hoop measuring 900mm diameter, thats brilliant . thanks a lot lads much appreciated.
  6. can anyone tell me the dimentions of the standard pole and loop which is required to get the correct hight and speed for english skeet , which I am trying to set up at mona anglesey. I cannot find it in the rules.
  7. hi HAMISH, I know where you are coming from, when you go on reg shoots the scores may go down slightly for a while, handling self pressure is another ball game, get out there and shoot the regs and get used to it, but its hard work.
  8. yes will let you know, we will get a few lads tother and give it a try, will be at skeet club tomorow 21st need to get right for south wales 2000 in june.
  9. The tower targets at doveridge near the garden are awesome !
  10. yes its me Dave, Just asked Mike and he will set one of the skeet layouts for olimpic skeet for anyone , providing they give two days notice. can't grumble with that.
  11. Fauxdegla is a great ground, now got 4 skeet layouts, I practice there regular ,staff are always willing to alter the flight line of the clay if wind efected, but as far as I know olympic skeet is not set up. ie up to 3 sec delay and target speed.
  12. cheers jega, I read the script, seems like the sequence has'nt changed after all. Will practice it now, pity ive got to travel 120 miles to doveridge or 90 odd miles to mid wales, Fauxdegla doesnt do it .
  13. hopefully shooting for ynys mon <anglesey>. I will look up bictsf beginners guide to olympic skeet, was told that the rules have changed recently ie stand 8 you shoot high bird twice instead of low +high.
  14. Can anyone tell me the corect up to date olympic skeet sequence, ive tried browsing cpsa but coud'nt find it, as i'm going to concentrate on it soon to try and qualify for the island games next year.
  15. Called at mid wales and compared a 30" dt11 with my own 32" dt11,shot them both on skeet only missed 1 in 75, both guns felt the same, lead seemed the same, making me feel confused on what to do as in am I making the right decision going down to a 30". I compared them both on sporting layout to find the longer clays were easyer to hit and smoother control with the 32". That was the decider, having disgused it with Jonathan ,The order was then changed to 32" dt11black edition. Big thanks to Jonathan and wife at the superb ground for letting me use the 30" to try.
  16. Expect to shoot some some of scott barnetts famous 'FROGS' They look easy but still catch you out.
  17. Thanks Hamster and shaun 4860. I started with 28" guns aswell and doing well on those days on 50 bird local open club shoots in derbyshire and staffordshire, this might have been in the late eighties,I am now 63, and now living in north wales, targets I think are much harder now , 50 and 60 yarders fast and awkward angles are now common, shooters are using longer barrels which are ballanced well and scores have got better, standards are higher on reg shoots. Yes I am hoping i'm making the right decision on getting the 30"black edition dt11, big gamble from the 32", we are all trying to beat our personal best and still enjoying it.
  18. I have ordered a dt11, 30" black edition. should be ariving end of june. I presently use dt11 32" for sporting and more recently shooting registed esk, scores are not bad at moment averaging 93. but feel i'm still a bit slow on swing as rarely use maintained lead, thats why i'm going down to 30" barrels. Has anyone else out there had any experience from stepping down to a 30 " livelier gun although the dt11 would still have nearly the same weight with adjustable weights in stock and barrel. Also there are rumours that the black edition berettas ie 690, 692 have experienced that the black is coming off the action and the breach end of barrels. I am hoping that it wont happen to a dt11.
