    pellet moulds

thought that might be the case, cheers ...ed,im having real trouble getting 5.6mm wasps for my webley premier, does any body else manufacure a 5.6 pellet?
  3. hi i know this question must have been ask loads of times,i just wanted to know the details of how to tune spring guns as ive had a webley exocet .177 for a few years and was told they're not that good out of the box and need a bit of work to get em up to 12ftlbs,i used to polish and re-grease mainsprings on mine, and my mates webley tempest's,years ago,but is there anymore stuff i can do to get abit more grunt out of my exocet, any help would be greatly apreciated ...ed
  4. i was just wondering if anyone manufactures .22 pellet moulds? as i live fairly far from any gunshops and find it a bit of a chore to travel some 20 miles for a tin of wasps.any advice would be good...ed
  5. i spoke to them on the phone,he said it shouldnt really be an issue as it was a while back, and if i was to keep them at the club they couldnt see any problem with that either, cheers for the advice you were right.he seemed really helpfull and friendly.im gona send off my ticket now.ed
  6. yeah i suppose 6 months is a bit excesive, beurocracy is rife in this country, and i have heard it can take a while for them to give you your ticket.but im not in any huge rush,i can still use our club guns in the meantime.so im not too bothered if it takes a while,as i can try out various things and then maybe make a better choice of what gun to get. i feel lucky enough as it is,living in london i dont get many opportunities to shoot and thought i would never get an f.a.c at all,as most clubs wont let you just turn up. luckily for me an old work mate was a member of a club and brought me down for a night,i joined and here we are.i did my probationary about 4 months ago and just got round to sorting out the ticket last week.im quite content to wait a while,as i plan to shoot for a very long time in the future....ed
  7. wow im not suprised you think that, sounds like an idiot to me as i say im still fairly new to "real rifle" shooting and yet have not experienced stupidity of that magnitude yet.i was told of one of our club members who had done such a thing twice at bisley and is on his final warning.personally i dont like the guy much i try to avoid using our club range when he's on,as ive been warned by other members of his careless nature although personally ive never seen him do anything that stupid.
  8. i personally think the laws in the u.k are quite sensible (appart from the pistol ban of course),you only have to take a look at places around the world with little or no legal requirements to own a gun such as the u.s and south africa to realise that the must be some form of control.just think how many idiots there are in the world the thought of them being armed scares me.over the years ive seen some incredibly stupid behaviour carried out by idiots with airguns,if theyd been firearms i would have no doubt they would have been fatal injuries.one thing a lot of people forget is that guns are primarily weapons.it seems only fair that we are checked out somewhat to see our suitability and reasons to own such devices. when i went to bisley recently for my first time i felt confident and safe because i knew that everyone there had been checked out and knew how to behave sensibly and safely with a firearm it only takes one idiot to ruin it for everybody i love shooting and have done vairous forms of shooting since childhood im about to go for my f.a.c i think the law is quite reasonable..ed
  9. im sure that may have been a reason!,i used it open sights(simo style) at 200 yds and was surprised at how accurate it was.thanks for the info ill have to have a chat with the flo and see the outcome, although i'd be more than happy with one gun for the time being, just hope ill get my ticket ..ed
  10. i was thinking pretty much the same, alot of the guys at my club use ruger 10/22's and they were on at me to get one, which i think is quite a nice gun but not really as accurate as a bolt gun,and ive always liked bolt guns anyway.although i did speedplates at the pheonix meeting and really enjoyed it.trouble is getting there as ive no transport apart from a pushbike! someone at the club is selling a bsa martini for 30 quid which im quite keen on too,do you think its more trouble to ask for 2 slots on my first application?i was thinking of a 17hmr bolt gun are they any good for target work? im impressed at your knowledge of Simo Häyhä.as i am half finnish,i have heard of him and recently used a moisin nagant of the same type as Häyhä's at bisley.it had a fearsome recoil i could only fire around 20 rounds it was so painfull,my shoulder hurt for a couple of days after it made the 308's feel mild by comparison thanks...ed
  11. thanks i hope it isnt a problem either,as you mentioned im going to keep it in the club as they have lockers there, and i live in rented accomodation.and dont have a car either as im a poor student.thanks for the feedback,im a little less concerned now ..ed
  12. hi this is my first post.and i wanted to know if anyone could help. im going for my f.a.c the only thing that seems like it might be a problem is that a few years back i suffered from depression im totally cured or as they say healthy now and have been for many years.i have no crimminal record and intend to shoot targets i am also a member of a club and did my probationary a few months back.the thing that worries me is that if i get turned down for an f.a.c will i still be able to shoot at the club with club guns?
