Yes, SSD drives are the way to go. Consider too, an M.2 NVMe drive for the operating system, preferably Windows 10 Pro 64bit. Don't dismiss an AMD Ryzen based laptop either. There is a huge Intel vs AMD debate over which is best but AMD have come on leaps and bounds and offer more bang for your buck as the saying goes. I specced and bought a high end desktop for my 60th birthday a couple of years ago from my local but internationally renowned computer manufacturer. My last two desktops and laptop had Intel processors and I was all set to go with the Intel i7. However, they recommended the AMD Ryzen 7 2700 with 8 cores for better performance and less cost. It's incredibly fast, stable and runs everything really well. AMD now have the Ryzen 9 and Intel their i9 to add to the mix. Just remember the graphics card can have a huge effect on performance too. If you intend to play modern games on your laptop then it's graphics power you need to a greater degree than a fast CPU. Good luck with your quest.

Has anybody used PSHQ Europe for Briley bits
SCP1959 replied to Mangled99's topic in Guns & Equipment
Here's the update I promised. I ordered a pair of Briley Invector Plus chokes from PSHQ Europe on Sunday March 21st and they have arrived today, Tuesday 6th April, just over two weeks later. They would have arrived a couple of days earlier but for the Easter holiday weekend. Indeed, they are shipped from Houston, Texas not from somewhere in Europe. I chose detailed tracking updates via USPS and the Royal Mail, which picks them up in the UK. USPS tracking updates are frequent and informative as the chokes crossed America. They travelled around 5000 miles to get here. They were very well packed with no customs duty to pay. Strangely, the purchase price was in Euros, the Dollar exchange rate is slightly better at the moment. Nevertheless, I've saved just under £20 on UK prices, which I think was worth the wait. I'd definitely buy from PSHQ Europe again 🙂 -
Yes, Doveridge.

Hello everyone and thank you for having me. I got my first shotgun in the late seventies and got into rough shooting on my relatives farms and clay pigeon shooting. I sold my guns in the early nineties for various reasons. Then, after a break of over 27 years my son took me clay shooting and I'm hooked again. I'm now the proud owner of Browning 525 Sporter and a couple of air rifles, a Webley Sidewinder Venom in .22 and a Weihrauch HW100 KT in .177 which I've just converted to a rifle because I was bored with lockdown 😁 My local shooting ground opens up again on Wednesday so, I'm going to see if I can frighten a few clays. Happy days 🤞🤞🤞

I apologise for being another newbie resurecting this post in advance. I've got a pending order with PSHQ Europe for a pair of Briley chokes. Their prices are certainly very attractive but they don't seem to be in any great hurry to dispatch them. I'll update when I know more.
