  1. Yes your right but to get the real birds in the first place you have to use something, and in the warmer months it doesn't take long before the decoys are covered in flys.
  2. What's the best scope mounted lamp, cost and practicality.
  3. I hope to try them soon the main reason I wanted high detail decoys is I'm now shooting with Air rifle instead of shot guns as my ears are getting worst and I can't wear defenders so Air it is with better field craft
  4. 12 full bodied I have some uv socks to cover old decoys and they scare pigeons away, I put one of these in my garden and 2 woodies and a collard dove landed and started feeding under the bird table I'll try to get a photo of them
  5. Well that's my first attempt at HD decoys what's everyone's thoughts on the colours
  6. Anyone know what kind of paint and colours I'll need to paint full bodied decoys
  7. Any one know of any Airgun clubs near to wakefield or in Yorkshire Don't mind a bit of a travel. Thanks
  8. Yeah it's the first one I've seen hence the purchase and getting it fully tuned and serviced by KG ready for years of use.
  9. Just got back from meeting Kev G He's fitted my Rapid 20cal left hand mk1 with a new regulator and a service tune, what a great bloke he is very skilled knowledgeable about these guns, Thanks to Weihrauch 17 for recommending him to me The gun I've wanted for a lot of years is now mine I'm well pleased.
  10. Well I bought the gun a Rapid mk1 and kev g is sorting the regulator out for me, thanks to everyone for the sound advise.
  11. It's the wife's birthday, I can't think of a better way to spend your birthday lolol.

  13. I'm in the process of buying a Theoben mk1 rapid, I've been reading about the regulators that can be fitted to the mk1 do they improve the consistency or not, if they do improve the gun who's best in fitting and tuning these guns, Thanks
  14. Some may disagree but I've put this to the test. A lot of it is down to how you look and sound, now I drive a van and I have a broad Yorkshire accent and a friend of mine drives a landrover a shiny one and he went to a top school and speaks well sounds educated but really he's as thick as treacle, anyway I called in at a far that had plenty of pigeons on the rape only to told we have someone one I even had my proof of BASC membership on me but nope no joy. A few days later my friend call in his shiny landrover with educated accent and no proof of BASC but surprisingly or not the answer was yeah certainly young man you can try these fields as well. So my advise is find a mate with a posh voice and send him in.

  16. Hi I'm refurbishing my old yeoman and need a stock and forend if any one has an old yeoman with a good wood I'm in yorkshire. Thanks
  17. I think the popularity of pigeon shooting over the last 20 years has been its down fall. I remember when I could only think of another half dozen pigeon shooters in my area then it started to explode literally with shooters heading out in the middle of the night just to get the best spots I've heard of lads arguing over where they're shooting. Then the grief it causes for the farmers with lads pulling up asking to shoot 10 at a time queueing up. Then there's the videos of Redletter days showing hundreds of pigeons being shot and you can guarantee not used for anything other than decoys. Some of the states I've seen in the headge rows left by so called country men its a disgrace so all in all let's hope it doesn't get back to its crazy numbers of shooters.
