I served with 1 DWR, and was attached to the KOSB in Forkhill and crossmaglenn, I enjoyed the company, never understood a word anyone said but all the same, it was a good time considering where we were.
To right as an Englishman i a Jock reg I did understand the Iraqis better at times, I did manage to convince the interpreters that because all the officers in the coy where english and the soldiers scottish we rounded up the tribal hill savages and put them in uniform in a colonial army. But was an excellent regiment and I can't think of a better people to have in a stickey situation. Shame the penny pinching govt has assigned the KOSB to the history books
