  1. Hi folks, I was lucky enough to pick up a Wanless bros 12 bore sidelock from the recent online auction at Holt's. Circa 1915, 30" nitro proof barrels in what appears to be amazing condition for a gun that is 108 years old. Barrel blacking is still very good and timber is in reasonable condition although a bit short for me. Apparently I was the only one to place a bid at a price I'm too embarrassed to say. Obviously I'm over the moon and can't wait to frighten some clays. Warm regards
  2. Hi Folks, Thanks for letting me join. Just received my shotgun license and have started to acquire a couple of shotguns. I recently picked up a couple of sbs from an auction and one does need some restoration. It is safe and sound but suffering from external rust, a couple of small dents in one barrel. Also there is some staining of the boxlock action due to moisture. Still can't complain as it only cost me 1.30 pence. Sorry my keyboard doesn't have the pound sign. Anyway I am looking for some recourses to help with the restoration which will be a winter project. Websites, videos or articles all would be welcome. Many thanks in advance, Lee
