    Zero problem.

Hi sorry to here your problems. Firstly you should not use a rest such as a tree stump to shoot with a spring powered rifle. The recoil of the rifle will cause the rifle to jump. Secondly I had a lightning xl which had to be sent back to BSA because the barrel had become loose, where the under lever joins the barrel to the action. This has happened to a few people with lightnings. If you hold the stock between your legs try and move the barrel from side to side, if the movemet is excessive this could be your problem. Mine would shoot great groups but then the point of impact would suddenly change! Obviously caused by the barrel moving slightly every now and then. Hope this helps Billsy
  2. As above Nikko Stirling Platinum Nighteater awesome both day and night can't fault in any way.
  3. Fair one about charging! What about that nice loud on/off switch though CLIIICK!!! Her I am bunnies
  4. I had a logun which comes with a seperate battery and pack. Battery was the same size as a modern motorcycle battery. The leads to the battery and the weight and size of the battery crazed me. before moving into a shooting position 9/10 times I would have to position the battery first. Long charging times and only 2 hours worth of good light. For short range I think a powerful torch (surefire etc) is the best option.
  5. For rabbits and any short range work I would recommend a surefire g2 flashlight which come with a life time warranty. They are very cheap on ebay from the u.s. You could buy the torch, mount, pressure switch and 12 batteries for under your budget. They are also very light and can mount on scope or silencer/barrel with no need to carry a large aukward battery pack. Shooting sub f.a.c you don't need to light the world up, so the surefire is ideal as it has a tight powerful focused beam out to 35m. Only downside is the cost and duration of the batteries but spend a little more on an l.e.d version and you will struggle to find a simpilar better lamping outfit.
  6. Nothing bigger than a pigeon with an air rifle what about a rabbit???
  7. Well finaly got some cash together to purchase the new scope. Didn't have enough spare cash for the mamba at £115 so went for the nikko platinum night eater for £73. First impressions are good, the scope is well put together and everything has a smooth posotive movement. Clarity is awesome at all magnifications (1.5-6) and the german 4a illuminated cross hair recticule seems ideal for hunting. Lenses are fully coated and not just tinted like other scopes i've had. All in all it seems great value for money and one of only a few scopes that I could find with the specs I wanted (30mm, low magnification, illuminated and with good light gathering qualities) without spending a fortune. I will be zeroing it in the morning and lamping with it tommorrow night if the wife lets me! I'll let you know how it performs asap Thanks again for your advice when I was trying to decide which scope to get
  8. There are a few dvd's floating round on ebay that have some good guides. Think one is called total airgun hunting and another was total pest control that I got. There are a few to choose from and they are all cheap as chips, I paid a couple of quid each.
  9. Hi mate lamp will fit any rifle as it mounts on your scope unfortunately it is now listed on ebay as I had no interest. Ebay listing number is 320219254230 and it's currently at £47. Sorry for the late reply Cheers Billsy

    HW100 ?

I use a .22 hw for mainly rabbits but I think it is down to personal preference. The .22 .177 question will go on forever! I had to sell two rifles and a scope to buy mine as the wifey would not let me spend the money!
  11. Another vote for the Weihrauch HW100! Great rifle well within your budget but for a grand you have alot of rifles to choose from.
  12. wow thats some hardcore testing right there! Don't fancy doing it with my hw100 do you? Cheers for the results though very interesting
  13. I believe your correct. As the 177 has to travel at a higher velocity to achieve close to 12 pound it takes more air than 22. I could be wrong though!
  14. Glad your happy with it don't think you can go wrong with the hw100. Happy hunting.
  15. Hi guys have for sale a logun gun lamp and filter pack. The lamp is un-boxed but in very good condition and comes with orig bag, cables, mounts as when new. Only used for about 4 months. Cost £75 new will sell for £60 inc p+p. http://www.airgunbuyer.com/Showproducts.as...0Lamping%20Kits Link should show the lamps details. Thanks for looking.
  16. No mate the hw has a hole that a filling probe fits into. All you have to do is pull out the probe that seals the hole and stops any **** entering, push in the filling probe and fill (the filling probe comes with the gun). Very easy and very quick. Hope this helps.
  17. Hi mate I have a sporter karbine hw100, what a rifle. As stated above all the new hw100's are quick fill so no unscrewing of the cylinder. Comes with one of the best silencers on the market and 2 x 14 shot mags with a faultless loading mechanism that will not double load. Great build quality deadly accurate can't fault this rifle in any way. When I was buying mine a few months back there seemed to be a shortage of some of the hw100 models, don't know if this is still the case

    pellets

Hi mate best of buying a sample pack from pellpax. www.pellpax.co.uk/acatalog/Pellpax_SAmple_Packs.html Easiest way to find a pellet that suits, with out spending much and having to use thousands of pellets every barrel is different. Other wise I think Air arms and Crossman seem to work well through most barrels. Also try asking at www.weihrauchowners.freeforums.org.
  21. Cheers monkey, only thing stopping me buying the MTC mamba is that the night eater is about 40 quid cheaper and money is tight! Don't want to regret my buy for the sake of 40 quid Thanks for your advice mate.
  22. Thanks for the advice mate they do sound like great scopes, trying to ge my local shop to get one in so I can look at it. Any body used a nikko night eater? Definately swaying towards the mamba but have just found the nikko for £76 posted!!! from Litts. Would be saving some cash buying the nikko but is the quality reflected in the price?
  23. Also forgot to mention that the scope will be used mainly for rabbit hunting at day and night.
  24. Hi asking for your views experience on these two scopes both have a very similar spec - 1.5x6x44 with IR, german 4a reticule, both come with mounts and are of a similar price. So please could you help me in choosing one of these scopes?. I have searched for reviews and everybody seems to think that they are both great scopes for the money-but which one should I spend my hard earned on? Thanks for your help.

Now waiting to see if anybody at defence estates replies to my emails and letters. QE2 barracks has now been sold to taylor woodrow homes (which again I am tearing what little hair I have out, finding the right person in the company to grant permission). The old transport depot opposite it is still owned by the mod I believe and has a un used 25 mtr range at the back outside the perimiter which is ideal for plinking and zeroing before moving in to the camp for some bunny bashing! Also all the woodland and fields behind the camp are un used by the mod. If only I could get permission! Cheers for all your replies and help with advice on drug dealing security gaurds , their cars etc LOL Will let you all know if I ever succeed whilst going even balder trying!
