chris o Posted September 27, 2009 Report Share Posted September 27, 2009 hi all i have some permission shooting over some barley. he has now cut the fields and has not long turned the fields over and spreaded them. will pigeons decoy on this? if they will what is the best way to set up on it? i only have half shell sport plas decoys. will crows decoy this aswel if i get some crow deecs and how many crow deecs should i get? any help will be more then welcome. thanks all and good shooting. If its organic manure the crows will certainly be about, but in my area the pigeons show no interest in barley stubbles, but that may be because there is so much disced rape and wheat stubbles to peck over. When I go rook/crow shooting I only use 4 decoys and then add dead birds. Often they will overfly the pigeon decoys and you can get some "real" decoys that way. Wouldnt bother with deocying the pigs, but try getting on the crows. Still it wont be long before he starts drilling and you wil have something to shoot over. Whats the farmer putting in next.
