As most of you know i'm trying to put a case together with plod to be able to use one of these on a golf club so i bought this mths SHOOTING SPORTS .Now i am street wise where mags are concerned but imagine my horror when i read the review 17 MACH2 using Hornady and Eley ballistic tip

QUOTE .......SENSIBLE /PRACTICAL LIMIT 100YDS :P I thought these guns shoot flat up to 200yds a statement made by Ruger themselves although the gun in question here is a Venom/Sako Finnfire and would be my personal choice

Any advice is welcome as i can't see the point when i'm in possession of a 10/22 anyway :D:):lol:

Deadeye,

youve got .17HMR and .17MACH2 mixed up the are two sperate rimfire rounds!

Firstly the .17 hmr is a .22magnum case necked down to take a .17 bullet.

and the .17 mach2 is a .22 lr case necked down to take the .17 bullet.

The .17hmr is good out to 200 yards

The .17 mach2 is good for 100 ish yards

Hope this helped
