rushy lad
Anyone going to the coniston country fair in the Lake district this Sunday? I am showing one of my Lakeland Bitches on the day. The first of many shows that I will be attending throughout the summer. Anyone else out there that show working terriers?

A hell of a lot of ratting in the colder months and ferreting when people ask for a rabbit or two! :(

rushy lad
Salt of the earth us Cumbrians. I am a Walneyite born and bred but moved to the outskirts of Barrow a while ago. Lovely and rural here though, but I miss the sea even though it is 5 minutes away. :(

A nice pollack of 8 and a half pounds and one of six off the boat from up off eskmeals. Also managed to land a 46 pound tope on 15 pound line on the same trip. :(

Wind was from the east, so perhaps thats the answer. webber

webber
I had never fished Silecroft before, but had heard good reports. I had never seen so many fishing rods, litterally as far as you could see in both directions. We discovered that there was a match on, we felt so sorry for those lads. We just wanted to use up our insurance bait for the abandoned boat trip. Its a pity that the road is not better. webber
webber
Nobs Ive never shot at Lowther before, asOI am not a competitive shooter, but I do fancy having a go at some of those stands. I think that it is Penrith cun club who organise the shoot. Who ever it is the stands seem brilliant. webber

webber
Nobs Dont know what the match was, we only reallised around 4.0clock when a hooter went off anf loads of blokes made a dash for the sea. We packed up shortly after, and there were dozens of very long faces. webber

rushy lad
Silecroft fishes quite well in the Autumn/Winter for Codling and Whiting, A good westerley blowing for a few days brings em in. Up the coast at Nethertown is better ground and bigger cod, Had some crackers up there on blacks.
