the pelt man
Hi Guys, CP, Jim Bob and myself had aranged to go away to Hunstanton in Norfolk this weekend just gone. We left Friday morning so we could get there for low water and dig a load of Lug for the eve and Morning tides. Getting there we set about digging and soon got around 80 big cigar sized lug and a few smaller, so we stoped and had Cod and Chips for lunch. We fished the tide up and three hours down but as good as blanked with me only catching a small Eel. The wind was gale force and the Sea raging with the sea wall and us on it looking more like a scene from Trawlermen with waves crashing over the top of us. We packed up and went back to the Cabin for the BIG chicken stew and crusty bread that Jim Bob had brought with him . 10pm saw us make a load of rigs up then to bed at 12.30 only to get up at 4am to fish the next tide which we all blanked so had a full English at 10am then went and dug another 100 Lug worm. We fished the Eve tide again and all blanked AGAIN We then had a chat and the plan was we would have a rest in the morning, go dig a load more Lug then drive down to Lowestoft and fish the tide up till 3 hours down. We had a take-away watched MOD then bed. The next day we put the plan into action and Dug another 80 Lug and left for Suffolk. Within 2 mins of putting his line into the water Jim Bob hooked a good sized Whiting with CP and me not far behind, pulling loads in and soon getting fed up of the ******* About a hour before high tide the water realy started to rip around the end of the Pier, with a bit of weed catching the line. Soon i herd CP shout that he was into a good fish with JB and myself saying it was weed, CP pulled up a nice 3 1/2lb Codling . 5 mins later he shouted again that he was in to another with us shouting back ''DOG DANGLEYS'' he pulled in a nice 4 1/2lb Codling . Not waniting to be out done i then hooked a 3 1/2lber . Other anglers saw what we were catching and must have got on the phone as Cars started to pull up on the pier with men jumping out and setting up even a boat turned up and fished just of the end The tide rip stopped as soon as it started and the Cod and the other anglers went away leaving us pulling in whiting until 1.30am. So we packed up and i drove as the 2 hour drive back to Hertfordshire. Very tired now but Great fun was had by all, cant wait for the next trip TO SUFFOLK
