SXPhil
My daughters 20g needs a little extending by a gunsmith which no doubt means leaving the gun with them [i bought the gun from them they are a RFD] for probably more than a week Do I have to sign the gun over to them and then back to me because its going to be held for longer than 72 hours Phil
libs
Just leave it all to them. They will know who has to sign what!

jsync
You don't need to tell anyone as they are an RFD. When I dropped mine off for over 2 weeks they just gave me a receipt.
Cushat
You'll need to take your cert along and the rfd will enter it on their records but you don't need to inform the police.

starlight32
Cheers Guys A registered firearms dealer is totally neutral ground to a licence holder, the time limit as far as I am aware that you can leave a gun at an RFD before notifying the police is 2 years. No problem just leave it with them and just get a receipt. Regards Edited October 28, 2009 by starlight32
