hi terry,

i have got a spanish s/s which had been double discharging so i know your pain . it does give one hell of a kick !!!

I was told by a gunsmith that it was the sear springs which had gone and had him do the springs and new pins made. still went off twice tho . turns out he hadnt changed the springs and he made the pins too long.

got my dads friend to remake the pins from an original template and it hasnt double fired since.

so check your pins and your sear springs.

hope this helps you out a bit

It sounds like a worn sear to me and needs a gunsmiths attention . If one of the sears is worn then the gun can double discharge when fired . The second discharge is usually a split second after the first discharge . This is due to the shock of the first barrel going off and knocking the second trigger sear off . This can be very scary and can of course be very dangerous .
