Weihruach HW90

I read on a different website that the Theoben gas ram that's fitted to this rifle, can have the pressure increased to around 19 ft/lb by means of putting air into it through the rear of the ram. Has anyone else heard of this.

If it is possible, I would like to do this to mine and declare it on my FAC.

Thanks

Steve.

yes nearly all hw can go over 12ft.(alot are already :good: )

if its gas ram you can buy a pump and pump it up.

things like the hw 97 or 80 can be tuned with kits. (v tune glide kits)

ox or titon main springs .

More spring, less piston weight etc.

I will warned you, air gun tunning is an art ,its ok to try but you may ruin a really lovely gun.

I have seen people respring a rifle only to make it almost unfireable.

And kick a scope to death.

The gas rams are good,it will be more likely to leak if you really over pump it .

You used to be able to buy a pump for about £90 (about two years ago)Shop will do it if fac.

This is a funny little hand pump, not a pcp stirup pump.

I feel you would be better off buying a .22lr if you are after power.

tho yes you can take the hw over 12 ft/lb.

Dont get done for not having a fac, power is not everything with a airgun.

Sorry about my spelling am very ill today, hope what i have wrote reads ok ,and helps.

cheers scott

forgot to add your not going to gain much for 11ish ft/lb to 18ft/lb.

the money would be better spent on a better scope

If you want to ask an expert phone ben taylor and son (Ben of theo)(ben) ,in cambridgshire.

You will get a yes or no.

I remember reading a while back that just increasing the pressure does not convert a non-fac HW90 to fac rated - it requires a number of different internals. There's all sorts of issues with piston-seal burnout etc. And apparently the accuracy suffers and becomes really inconsistent.

Not sure how much of this is to dissuade someone from doing it and how much is actually true. I suspect there's a fair deal of truth in it.
