red_stag88
Where do you buy your decoys from? whats the cheapest? what types are best E.g shells, solid?
Craigie
I have got half a dozen decoys which fold flat when you put them away, they are larger than flexicoys and seem to work very well. They cost me £2.75 each and come with a stick to hold them up on fresh drillings but they sit well on top of peas etc because they are so light, and they take no space in your bag so therefore less weight. Cranfield
I prefer flock coated decoys, with a mix between shell and full bodied. The lack of shine and realsistic appearance from a distance of the flock coated birds, has to be seen to be believed.
Tony
I always used Flexicoys as I though they were the most realistic look deeks on the markets (at the time). I got fed up humping them about so decided to lighten the load a get some shells. I looked at some of the flock types at the CLA fair but though they were a bit on the dark site. In the end i went for the standard shells from Deben. They have much better colouring. Cranfield, what 'flavour' do you have? I won't mention the brand that I considered too dark for fear of legal action for lost sales   By the way, did you ever sort out a speed controller for your rotor? Cranfield
Tony, I got my flock covered decoys from N&S Shooting Supplies and the colour is just right. I was sceptical at first, having used rubber type decoys for years, but they are an improvement. They may cost a bit more, but I think they will last a very long time. I didn,t get the speed controller sorted out. A chap I know is testing one he made himself, if it works OK, he will make me one. I,m not sure if it will be a benefit or not, could be worth a try. Cranfield
They don,t have a website yet, but I believe there are some pictures of their stock on WildFowler.co.uk website. Or you could ring them on 01925 728057 and ask for a price list. Don,t forget to mention Pigeon Watch UK.
