andyd99
I don't know if this is in the right section, but wondered if anyone can answer my question. I am off upto Scotland two weeks today, for a few days pigeon shooting, and a few lamping sessions. Ive also got two Goose flights booked. My question is, do I need a game licence to shoot geese? Sounds like a daft question, but never done it before. Want to be safe than sorry. Also, if i need one, can i get one online, as i would imagine my local post office won't do them. sako751sg
For the quarry you mention you wont need one.Hopefully this will be the last year we are required to have one.As has been mentioned,if there is any chance you will be shooting game, you should get one. Most post offices in the larger towns should be able to supply one. mayfly36
Well the only advise i could give you is, get it anyway in case you are advised you don't need 1. I know Here in NI you are supposed to carry a game license for game. Better to be safe than sorry, your main post office will have them, some local offices will probably only tell you to go the main office. WGD
You won't need one for the quarry, as mentioned, but if there is any chance you could be shooting game phone BASC Scotland and for £6 from your debit/credit card they will send you one. Piebob
Or you could go for the blue one at £4 if you're not feeling flush!
Bobbo.
There you go. Game Licences Service The Wildlife and Natural Environment Bill could herald the end of the Game Licence in Scotland for the 2010/11 season. However it still remains a legal requirement if you intend to kill or take game in Scotland this season. BASC Scotland can provide anyone with a Game Licence for just £7. To get your licence, possibly one of the last ever to be issued in Scotland, telephone 01350 723226.
