steve_b_wales
I used the Varmint Grenade heads in .243 caliber, and found them to be no different to others.
bk
Cheers, what's a good starting head to reload for a hornet? I'm thinking Vmax, Blitzking or VG? or any other recommendation?
njc110381
35grn V-Max as it's a stubby bullet and fits the magazine. Load it in front of 13grns of Lil-Gun and crimp the round to give more uniform start pressures. The Hornet can be troublesome, but if you follow a few basic rules when loading it you can make it really accurate.
Mr_Logic
I use the 35-gr on top of 12.3gr H110, find it gives better velocity and accuracy than Lil Gun, but my LG load was the 13gr also, and it wasn't bad, but the H110 load is fantastic, and because the case isn't filled to the brim much easier to make! bk
Don't suppose anyone has any 40gr Blitzkings locally I could buy from them? I'm wanting to see if they load up okay in my mag but dont want to fork out for 100 if they arent any good
Mr_Logic
They won't load to mag length AFAIK - the 40 gr stuff is too long unless it's a stubby little Hornet bullet.
