tony armstrong Posted November 29, 2009 Report Share Posted November 29, 2009 i know its a bit early but we are considering hand sewing our game crops on our syndicate shoot next year and just wondered if anyone had any advice on type of seed time of year to sow r there any fast growing varieties etc. many thanks tony. only three weeks till me and my son get a knew addition to the team a lovely little black cocker pup. cant wait cheers fellas. Alycidon Posted January 9, 2010 Report Share Posted January 9, 2010 You will be wasting time and money doing it by hand, get a farmer or contractor to do it for you. Seeds need to go in when the soil temperature is right and at the correct depth to contact with the moisture present, sowing last year it was late May around here before conditions were right. Plots then need to be rolled with a Cambridge roll to compact the soil around the seeds and ideally sprayed with a pre emergance weed killer.
