Full HFT course open to all this Sunday, Sept 4th at Shepreth nr. Cambridge.

Book in by 10ish for a 10.30 start, plinking range and breakfast/lunch BBQ and a tricky 30 target (1 target 1 peg) course.

£50 for the winner and cash prizes for second and third places.

Shepreth Club

Easy to find, either coming down from Cambridge / M11 turn off at Harston junction and head towards Royston. Or coming up from Royston take the Cambridge road. Shepreth is well signposted, head into town and find the railway station. Head out of town over the railway crossing past the station and about 400 yds it's the first farm on the left...

Turn into the farm and you should see some cars parked at the top end of the track next to the woods...

See you there...

blammed off a good few shots down the club yesterday (saturday) with my career 707 and open sites! managed a decent size grouping at 30 yards (about 3") and used a HW80 with open sites a few months back, even managed 50 yard 2" targets 8 out of 10 shots (standing, not including the 100+ ranging shots i made )

if can get a decent springer with open sites some time will try shooting a HFT style comp with ti down the club  should be fun to see how it does

managed a 31 out of 40 today with my TX200 .22, top score going to a pro elite .177 joint against BSA S10 in .177  (well done baz and mark :D)

hope you ahd fuin with your comp shootist :D

what range and what target do you use for the long range comp? and was it bench rested or hft style stances?

ROB :D

Had an excellent day with a truly tricky 30 shot HFT course ... Young James Huckle walked away with the£50 with an excellent 57x60 given the difficulty of the course.

The springer side shoot with open sights seemed to be enjoyed by all. Certainly a bit different!

The long range shoot was 53 1/2 yards shot either prone on corn stubble (uncomfortable!) or rested on a straw bail (more confortable but wobblier!)

Regards

Tony
