Ballymac
theres forestry tenders that come out every year but they look stuiped money for to take the shooting for the year. Im glad we have lots of ground to hunt. anyone check this place out www.glennooshoot.com Just getting round to this but I checked out glenoo shoot over the xmas period and booked a walked up day for 4 guns. We were going for a 25 - 30 bird day. It started with partridge then pheasant and duck and an occassional partridge. You can bring your own dog and you need to be able to cope with rough shooting ground. This is not driven shooting in anyway. Weather was against us, it was -7 and foggy when we were met at 9.30am but we drove up the mountain and at 10am we were starting to hunt in glorious sunshine overlooking a valley that was filled with freezing fog ( a sight that will stay with me). We hunted the valley that was covered in heather and had a good couple of hours and 10 partridge in the bag. Cup of something hot some turkey and xmas cake then on to pheasant and duck. Another few hours a total of 25 birds, a good walk some good shooting. We finished about 3.45pm as the freezing fog was starting to get to us. All in all a good day If you like rough shooting and want to work your dog or not this is worth a try. You can spend as much or as little as you want within reason. ollie
Well done mate. Where is the shoot located? Did they charge per bird? I don't know if I would be interested in this sort of thing because it is very similar to the sort of shooting I do at home but thanks for the advice. Fat Dog
Sounds like you had a good day out BM. I have heard a few boys say they enjoyed their day at Glenoo, reasonably priced too I believe.
Ballymac
Hi Ollie, it is located outside Clogher and they charge per bird or set a limit and agree a price per gun. If you have your own ground and release birds then it will not be anything new to you.Although have to say that shooting over heather at partridge was good sport. Not everyone has the opportunity to shoot over a large area were there is something to shoot. Hi Fat Dog yep good day no complaints about the price.
