Country_est
Hi Guys, have just got my self an 3.5" xtrema (as you may know) and I know a few more on here have the same, so I have some questions. What do you use and from where. Shop or Home. Also if home loads what do you use to load them ?. I nearly bought a Lee Loadall but have just found out it won't do 3.5". Still got some 3" steels from last season to use yet but am looking to see whats available and of any use. Cheers for any input to this trev
M ROBSON
Country Est, There are a variety of factory loads in the 3.5" 12g most manufacturers now make them, John Forseys is a good place to start. I homeload my own with a Mec Steelmaster which has an adapter to do 3" + 2.75" also. Mark.
henry d
You can use the Lee you just drill a hole on the central bar 1/2 in above the 3" setting hole!
Country_est
Henry, Can you elaborate on that and I might just continue with the Lee that I have just refused.... Trev.
henry d
No prob,I spoke to a guy who used to reload about this very topic and he said that on the central stem there are 2 holes for 2 3/4 and 3" shells and you only need to drill the next hole 1/2" further up to accomodate the 3 1/2" mags. I still use the Lee loadall myself but I decided to go for a 10 bore instead of a 3 1/2" 12 bore, but I am after the reloading gear for a 10 bore now! Country_est
Cheers for that henry. Sold my 10g 2 months ago to make room for the 3.5" 12g. Found that the 10g was heavy to carry and use so didn't tend to use it. Also always took the 12g as well so it used to get a lot of kit to drag about, plus theres not many geese down here (well there all Brent). trev
