mr who?
Im looking to sell my heavily customized Ruger 10/22 , Ive owned this rifle for around 2 years , I brought it 2nd hand from Portsmouth gun centre , and the 1st owner had already carried out some work on it before me , so Ill try to list the rifle as it stands today . The action and barrel are both stainless steel , the barrel is of the standard type , with iron sight still in place , and has been threaded to take a mod . Is sits in a custom made walnut thumbhole stock , which allows the thumb to be positioned in either the thumb up or through the thumbhole , front and rear sling swivels point have been fitted , so has a sliding butt pad , and Ive also sanded out the barrel channel to free float the barrel . This stock affords me a very heads up position , which I require when ever Im using my N.V. scope . The ruger bolt release system has been fitted , and I believe an extra large mag release is as well , but please dont quote me on that as Im not claiming to be a Ruger expert here! I also dont know if its the standard trigger in place , but what I can tell you is that Ive never had an complantes about it , have not wanted or needed to adjust it since Ive had it , and is light , safe to use , no creep , and is as good my other rifles that have had a trigger kit fitted . Ive a stainless steel Parker and hale mod that I use with this rifle , making it as quiet as my FAC rated Rapid , Ill also include this , as long as the buyer has the slot for it of course . Im also including 2 brand new original Ruger 10 shot mags , 2 eagle 10 shot mags and 1 Butler creek metal lips 25 shot banana mag which is brand new as well . Im also including my Yukon NRVS-F 2.5 X 50 night vision scope , Ive owned this scope from new , Its around 5 years old , and has had average use , its in perfect condition , not a single mark , dent or dink anywhere , Ive also added a len doubler to increase the mag up to X5 and also added a extra I.R. torch , In fairness i dont use the extra I.R. that much , but it does help if Im shooting at my longer ranges . The I.R. torch has a small hair line crack on the battery housing where I over tighten it one day , And for some reason that I dont know why , the windage adjustment is back to front I.E. Left = Right and Right = Left , Its not a problem as long as you remember this when you are zeroing , And it works perfectly well other that that . Im also including the original box , paperwork , users hand book and manuel , the remote control , lens covers and lens cloth , both lens cover for the scope and the doubler allow this scope to be used during the day , I had a few problems getting a suitable gun slip for this rifle and scope combo due to its height , but found a very good padded DMP water proof one that has pockets on the outside and a very good sling , this slip holds the rifle and scope no problem at all , Ill also include some targets and cleaning kit as well , cant say fairer than that can I? I would much perfer a F2F deal , but its not a deal breaker , please feel free to contact me on here if you should have any question , and photos can be suppiled on request . Many thanks for reading . All the very best fellas . Andy . P.S. Just noticed I didnt tell you guys the price (I know Im a donut!) I asking £1100 for all of the above , yes I agree a lot of money to anyone , but I think you will agree that you are getting a awful lot for your money , Also just while I think of it , this rifle works best with Eley subs , And I would expect to score sub 0.75 inch groups at 50m with 5 shots . mr who?
Ive just remembered a few more details which Ill now add . The standard stock retaining slot head screw has been replaced with a after sales hex headed bolt , that came with its own allen key , this makes removal of the action and stock much easyier , and the rear metal bolt buffer has been replaced with a poly one , this makes the rifle much smoother to cycle , much less recoil is felt and its a hell of a lot quieter as well . However these can and do wear out in time , having said that Im still on my original one that I replaced the metal bolt buffer with , and Its still going strong , But I will include a spare poly bolt buffer as well . Theres a Volquartsen bullet stabilizer , and a custom made flash hider that I has made to my own spec included in the deal as well . Ill also give the buyer the original parts (stock screw and metal bolt buffer) FOC if they should want them . As a general rule of thumb , I used the night vision out to around 70m , 80m If Ive marked out the range , but you can still see rabbits out to around 90m normally . My best use of this rifle is to set up within my max distance of active warrens just before last light , downwind , and wait for the rabbits to start to come out to feed , at a range of around 60m-70m the Ruger using eley subs can hardly be heard . I wouldnt even want to try to guess how many rabbits have fallen to this rig over the last 2 years . Please feel free to contact me should anybody have any questions , and photos can be supplied on request , viewing of the rifle and scope can be arranged , and Id be willing to travel within reason . Many thanks for reading . All the very best fellas . Andy . Edited February 3, 2010 by mr who?

mr who?
While I think of it , Ive also got a non tilt bipod that has extra legs that screw into place so it can be used in from the prone position or with the extra legs screwed into place , from sitting or kneeling position . Its not the bipod in the photo in the first post . Ill also include this in the deal . Hopefully this will tip the balance with someone? All the very best fellas . Andy . mr who?
Hi there Would you be willing to sell the Ykon separately, if so how much? Would it be suitable for centre fire, 223/22-250? Cheers Hello Tasum , many thanks for the reply mate . Yes I would be willing to sell the Yukon night vision scope on its own , Its the tactical model , would come with the original box parts and tools , all the paperwork , users manual , lens covers , lens cloth , remote control etc... Ive also brought a lens doubler which takes the scope mag from X2.5 up to X5 . This also comes with its own lens cover , that has a filter built in that allows the scope to be used during the day . However , when I fitted this , I found that the overall seen image through the scope was ever so slightly darker , Not so much that it was a problem when I was hunting out to my normal ranges , but was noticeable out to my max hunting distance , but by adding a extra I.R. torch I removed this problem . The extra I.R. torch fits on the one of either two scope rails that the scope has built into it , I mounted the torch on to the top rail , but there is a second rail on the left hand side that you could use if you so wish . you can see the scope and torch in the photos above mate . You are most wecome to visit me and have a look at and through the scope , it would give me a chance to bend your arm over getting you to reconsider about buying my Ruger as well! Ive also made up a load of "reflective targets" that I use to check zero and practice with , Ill also throw those in to the deal . So down to the ugly business of how much , Im asking £450 for all of the above , And I stand by my original statement of everything being in 100% perfect condition , I normally use this scope to shoot rabbits , but have watched foxes playing at 90m and deer out to 100m . Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions or If you would like some more photos . Thanks again for the reply mate . all the very best . Andy . mr who?
That's where Im from Don't have any land safe enough to use a rimfire unfortunately mate but thanks anyway Chrispti , Many thanks for the reply mate . Ive got around 6-7 places that Ive got to hunt over , totalling around 2000 acres all in , they are in either rowlands castle , Leigh park , Hambaldon or ERmsworth . Ive got an "open" ticket , so I dont have so much of a problem getting land cleared anymore , as long as its safe to use rimfire . I always say the hardest thing about hunting is finding somewhere to do it! You are very welcome to join me sometime if you want mate . All the very best . Andy . mr who?
Ive just noticed that Ive made a mistake in stateing that everything is in 100% perfect condition Thats a small hair line crack on the extra I.R. torchs battery housing , that I caused one day when i must have over tighten it , However , it doesnt effect anything , it still works fine with no problem at all . And for some reason that i dont know why , but the scopes windage adjustment is back to front , I.E. left = right , right = left , It no problem as long as you remember this when you can to zero the scope , other than that , the scope , lens doubler , extra I.R. torch etc.. and all in perfect 100% condition , with all paperwork , parts , tools and original boxes etc... Sorry for causing any confusion guys Pleae feel fre to get in touch if anybody has an further questions , want more photos etc... All the very best fellas . Andy . mr who?
PRICE DROP! PRICE DROP! PRICE DROP! PRICE DROP PRICE DROP! Im now asking just £525 for the Ruger and everything that go's with it , And £425 for the night vision scope and all the odds and ends that go with it . Or £900 if everything gets sold at once . All the very best fellas . Andy .
mr who?
Will also now throw in a Accushot monopod that fixes to the rear sling swivel point , making a bipod into a tripod , makes for a super steady platform to fire from , Ive found them to be very helpful when checking zero as they help remove the weak link during the firing cycle (Me!) I paid around £60 2nd hand for this alone . Hopefully this will help tip the balance for one of you guys? All the very best fellas . Andy . Edited February 1, 2010 by mr who? mr who?
Night vision scope now sold , pending the normal , Ruger still up for sale . All the best fellas . Andy .
mr who?
Just had a bit of a add up , and I make it , not including the rifle but with just the extras that Im throwing in as well , the Volquarsten bullet stabilizer , the custom made flash hider , bipod , accushot monopod , 5 mags , gun slip , tools , spares , cleaning kit , targets etc... it adds up to £371 . I paid £550 for the rifle itself 2nd hand around 2 years ago , it was already customized then , and at a guess Id say Ive spent around another £200 since Ive owned it . So you can hopefully see its well worth the asking price of £525 . More photos are avilable on request , and viewing in person is fine as well . Many thanks for reading . Andy .
