tweedledee
guys i found myself a nice miroku 3800 which has been sporterised. the chokes have been opened to quarter and half.i`m wondering can the pattern be ruined totally with having this modification? should i ask the dealer to let me try it on a trial basis in case it does n`t pattern right at all.i always loved the 3800 and believe it to be well built. any comments welcome. VicW
It surely depends on who did the work.I would ask to have the chokes checked with a bore micrometer to determine their accuracy and size.A friend of mine had a MK38 trap gun sporterised and the 3/4 & full chokes taken out to 1/2 & 1/2,it patterned as choked and he shoots very well with it but it was done by a reputable gunsmith.
