wadingin
Thinking of useing a bipod on my HW97K springer but am told to hold the gun lightly to absorb the recoil does anyone know if the bipod would be worth a try . regards wadingin
aaron airgunner
the disadvantage of using a bipod on a springer is once you zero it on the bipod you can only shoot off the bipod as standing or kneeling shots will produce different results. but if you only use it off the bipod it will be deadly accurate. George1990
Sometimes when I use the bipod on the tx200 I don't get very good groups, as you allow all the weight of the gun to sit on the bipod. As they they are only ones that clip on to the under-lever the recoil can result in the barrel rolling over in the bipod, which changes POI each time. If you can get it consistant however, then it'll be a good idea. Though at the close range you'll be using the air rifle I found it better to practice getting accurate with sitting and standing shots, as this is more likely the way you'll be shooting in the field. If you start crouching down and faffing around with the bipod at 30 yards the bunny soon sees you moving and **** off. But worth a bash
Colster
Generally they're a bit of a no no for springers but it does depend how much it recoils. If it leaps like a scalded cat it'll never be any good on a pod but if your springer shoots fairly smooth you'll get better results.
