Vince Green
Parker Hale was a good make, not the best but good enough. With all .243s it depends on how much use it has had. Barrel life is not that long because i.243 ts a bit hot. The rifle is going to be about 20 years old now probably.
Loki
Hiya I have a Parker-Hale M81 in .243W from the early 1980s, still going though the original Pecar 4x35mm scope now replaced by a Shepherd. Based on the K98 Mauser action - field proven in my opinion. Timber on this model was good and over the years I had the original safety and trigger units changed for custom ones. Barrel now threaded for the ubiqtuous moderator - shame in my opinion as spoils the classic lines. Regretably I suspect I threw out the P-H catalogue from that vintage that showed the others in the range....I think they also did a Midland model which was the cheaper in the range. 'Lifestyle' check from previous owners or other provenance would be important but should be fine - has some history as original English/British firm. Cheers
