.222 Bullet weights

I have a CZ527 in .222 rem, my question is this;

 

What bullet weights do you find works best.

 

I've tried 55grn sp Sakos - no good

 

50 Federal sp - good

 

50grn sp Sako - no good

 

I think it has a 1 in 14 twist?

I doubt it is a stability problem but you could try 40grs and see if they are any better. You may be better off loading your own or get in touch with someone who can match a load to your rifle. When you say "no good" what sort of groups do you get?

try 50gr 52gr 53gr, but you will after reload to get the best out of any rifle.

40gr v-max are fantastic

Try some Privi 50 gn soft points, they work fine in mine.

I used the 40 grain soft nosed in mine and they do the job just fine ( Power Shok 40g)

hello sir i found federal premium 40 grain nosler bts shot best out of my cz 527 .222 varmint . But i started to reload about 3years ago and have found this the way to go . Accurate ammo and cheaper.21.6 grains of h 322 cci 400 primer 50 grain hornady spsx rp case . Ps this is starting load in the hornady manuel.

50 grain will shoot well if you find the right factory ammo. rreloading will give better groups of course. i would use 40 grain ammo in it. it will be flat and fast
