Nikon Monarch Rifle scope

Have been offered one by a mate up north for £150 for my 17HMR , just wondering if they were any good?

 

I assume the name holds a lot of sway in camera world but just wondering what opinions you have for their reputation in rifle scope world. i will be buying it blind and without trying it first

i have a couple, pretty good - on par with mid range Leupolds, but not up to zeiss/S&B/Swaro

its the Nikon Monarch 6.5-20x44

 

i'm not expecting zeiss\ swaro quality but a nice clear image would be great.

 

I have a leupold 4-12x40 but the mag is not enough for my needs

if it's in good nick then that sounds a good price, i think the original monarchs are slightly better than the current 3s. The Monarch Xs are a fair bit higher quality

That is the airgun model. I don't know what that entails over a standard rifle model aside from closer range parallax. Possibly worth looking that up.

 

That said, that is a great price for a Monarch. The optics quality is excellent and compared to anything else you're going to get in a x20 for less than £300 you're going to come out well ahead.

 

I have the monarch 6-24x50 and it is an excellent scope. Mine is on my AH.

the only difference mate is the airgun will parrellex lower it will not stop you putting it on a rimmie or centre fire mate good price if the ret and tube are fine.
