Popgun Posted February 13, 2010 Report Share Posted February 13, 2010 Are hobbys only here in the summer as im pretty sure i've just seen one out of my office window, i work on an island in poole harbour dorset we get Kestrals and sparrow hawks this was about the size of a Kestral blue on it's back and flew through the trees about 3 feet off the ground very fast. Summer visitors, mate. I have heard of odd arrivals in late March, but most arrive April onwards. Could have been a male Merlin They winter on the coast.
