berthaboo Posted February 14, 2010 Report Share Posted February 14, 2010 hello all i have been out with a few friends today with there hawks and ferrets but on the bit of land we was on there is loads of little digs in the ground with poo in them and this is not one or two but loads together like 10 + its like dog/cat poo and there is badgers in the area but i have badgers/foxes on my land and have never came across this before any ideas what is doing it Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

vulpicide Posted February 15, 2010 Report Share Posted February 15, 2010 Badger latrines and on a note of caution be careful where your ferreting some of these badger watchers try and class every hole burrow /earth as a badger sett and they will phone and report you then the onus is on YOU to prove you were'nt interfering with a badger sett. One of the guys I hunt with is a park ranger and he saw two old dears faffing about on a farm we control vermin on he thought they were lost and went to inquire to be told they marking the badger sett on the map for badgerwatch, it was in fact an old rabbit warren that hadnt seen a rabbit in 10 years it holds fox cubs most years, but they were adamant that it was a badger sett.
