bothbarrels
I have an Air Arms S410, I'm currently using the o'l stirrup pump to re-charge it. I was wondering......... I have a small compressor that I use for airbrushing. (it has a pre-set saftey blow off valve, so don't jump on my back!!) if I had a hose made up and adapted it to connect to my gun, (by Pirtec or someone in the hydraulic hose line) would I be able to charge it this way? it seems like a simple option to pumping by hand for ages, and having to get your bottle re-filled. what do you recon chaps? mickmep
the compressor wont work at high enough pressure. also i'm not 100% sure but i would have thought the air would be 'dirty'. i wouldn't even try.
2sledge
the compressor wont work at high enough pressure.also i'm not 100% sure but i would have thought the air would be 'dirty'. i wouldn't even try. i agree with the above the air will be damp and will start to rust the inside of the air chamber also the comprsor will have a max outlet presure of no more than 180 ft lbs where as the 410 is charged to i think about 1200 bar presure and a bar is about 14.7 ft lbs so that is about 1764 ft lbs hope this helps
Sauer
correct normal compressors do not even come close to psi you require average 200 psi from a compressor but you require 2700 -3000 psi ish!!! 10x as much!!! even if they did you would have to make sure that all fittings and hoses were rated for that pressure also 2ndly the air supplied by diving compressors in dive shops has been through charcoal filters ..... you may ask but im not breathing it so it doesnt matter......true BUT has the advantage of drying the air so you dont have any corrossion problems inside your pressurised pcp rifle and it will last a lot longer sauer Edited February 16, 2010 by Sauer
