Pepe
I find that unless the pigeons are eating the corn I can not pull them my way regardless of what I use.
turbo33
Had the same thing a month ago, so scrapped the decoy idea and stood under the flightline......much better had 50. Never to old to learn!
Shooting Tom
lol good idea lol, they are eating a lot of rape at the moment. and in a big groups i am finding that on rape you try to decoy them you may get the one or two drop in but thats it if they see a big group of real pigeons your decoys wont get a look in. M ROBSON
Gonk69, Did the birds show interest in the field and then flare off when they saw your spread? or were they just passing by to head elsewhere? If it's the latter your at a huge disadvantage straight away. When setting up your decoys I much prefer to set them out in one big pattern and then put the rotary about 5 yards upwind of the decoys. That way the birds that are coming in and trying to land in your decoys will always having the rotary in their vision during their final approach into wind, and they often don't notice you or the hide till it's too late. I find some pigeons, bar the young or stupid ones, don't like to fly directly over the top of a rotary. So with your setup like this they don't have to. I've had guys shoot pigeons lots of times while I'm parked in the truck next to their hide at lunchtime, checking how their getting on! Cheers, Mark.
