silverhawk
Was out down farm yesterday when i got a call at 7am from my feo asking why ive been buying ruger 10/22 parts from the usa when i own a 22lr rimfire magic rifle.Quite shocked explained that the rimfire magic rifle is a ruger but under a different name and all the parts fit my rifle and ive only orderd things like 10shot mags auto last shot bolt hold open and things like buffers but nothing ilegal like barrels or frames. And i had a funny feeling i would get a call as i orderd a few bits but he didnt seem intrested in what i orderd more in why i was ordering parts for a rifle i didnt own. After explaining that these parts ive been ordering is for my riimfire magic rifle he seemed happy with that.Strange how they found out supose customs must of reported it Still im glad customs and police do check things out. Dave 101
I heard a similar story a few years ago , a guy at my club had ordered some brass from the US for a friend via the net because his friend didnt have the net , as it was a calibre he didnt have his FEO wanted what he was doing with it . He also ordered a flintlock pistol model kit from abroad that also sparked an enquiry why was he buying a pistol as due to Dunblane pistols had been banned .
