Hi After a thorough cleaning check the extracter is OK , make sure the chamber is spotless , dont use grease try silicone oil sparingly , make sure there are no burrs in the action even polish the interior of the action polish the bolt return spring rod , basicly polish everything and get it all as slick as possible have a look round on the Ruger forum or some of the US forums for ways to trick it up . Is that legal to post via RM an action ? I would have thought it would have been a trackable courier required to transport it , Maybe RM are sitting on it after looking at it on the xray machine or the local bobbies have it , Dave

This is Chilcompton tunnel range in Somerset I was intrigued when I saw the photo I had taken but someone was standing next to me and took a photo at the same time and the orbs did not appear on their picture . It seems that from what I found out cheap lenses are prone to this effect , as the other person had a very expensive SLR type camera I am inclined to believe it . Initialy the idea of orbs sent a chill down my spine at the time when I started to find out what it was , its either dust or moisture in the air . Dave

Had you gone out there unarmed and shown any sign of anger or got physical that would be your FAC gone , You could have been arrested , its an awful situation this country has got into , but it has happened before that the innocent person has been the one who came off worse in court. Even a bit of swearing at someone when your driving or sticking your fingers up at them is considered an act of aggresion , so if your demmed a violent person theres no way they will let you have an FAC . Even if you get a caution this could show up on a CRB check in the future which could affect your chances of employment . Phone the police and let them deal with it , is sadly the correct thing to do these days , whether any of as actualy would take that course of action is totaly different but its something to be aware of . Just to update you on this , took it apart today and put the nylon ring on the waste side inserted the rod with the ball and screwed the cap back on and all is well and water tight . Thanks for the replies . Dave

Aguy was done a few weeks ago , he accidentaly shot a swan , he was using lead , as it was only wounded he took it to the vets , hes been done for 2 offences . SHOULD HAVE USED THE 3 S's SHOOT , SHOVEL AND SHUT UP . Dave

Hi Mongrel So there should be 2 plastic rings / cups to enclose the ball , I only have 1 which is fitted on the chromed nut side . what you are saying makes sense to me , I did think there could be something missing and he hasnt bothered to do it properly . Had my suspicians when he needed a couple of wing nuts and washers for the cistern to fit it to the toilet , he also reckoned the 1 1/2" threads were not long enough to fit it to the toilet which is only 1/2" thick . Hi A friend has just had a new bathroom fitted the guy who did the work has left under a bit of a cloud so its not possible to get him back to sort this out . The sink plug is one that works on a rod fitted to the taps , the rod goes up and down and is connected to a horizontal rod which goes into the back of the waste pipe and opperates the plug plunger . The problem is it leaks , I have had it to bits and cant see how the seal is made , the horizontal rod has a ball fixed to it this sits in a plastic ring which is retained by a metal threaded cover . As none of these parts fit together tightly how is it supposed to be water tight ? Any ideas on this , I have found 2 "O" RINGS ABOUT 1/2" WITH SOME PAPER WORK AND WONDERED IF THESE HAD ANYTHING TO WITH IT . [ sorry typed in caps ] Dave

You can have anything if its deactivated as it becomes a bit of scrap at that point . as to who would want it , a wannabe who cant get an FAC/SGC but wants to impress his mates , seriously though there are a lot of people out there who like to collect these items for all sorts of reasons . I did answere the question and that answere was Mini Rifle , as I said 50 round mags have been around for years , and as someone explained , because it saves time on mag changes when a sport can be won or lost on a hundredth of a second it pays to get the edge hence a 50 round mag much quicker using one mag instead of two . Dave

So what shooting sports do you do then ? this sort of attitude helped loose handguns , just because you dont do it you seem to think no one else should , have you never heard of practical shooting , fifty round mags have been around for years , I have seen them used in Mini Rifle . Some people like to paper punch some like to go out and kill animals . Just because its not your choice it doesnt have to be banned , remeber divide and conquer . Dave

My club run a mobile air rifle range , its an old caravan that opens out at the back . They take it round to the local school fetes and country shows . Dave

No doubt they kept the gun [ toy ] to play with when they get back to the station to while away the long hours , sorry being flipant . you can bet it goes down in the statistics as a resolved firearm incident and will be used against legal shooters in the future as to why guns in private ownwership is a bad thing .
