will8371
Hi Triumphant, from searching on Hull cart.. website i was able to download the WH line and found this.. WARNING Official Weihrauch imports carry the Hull Cartridge stamp on the barrels. It is your assurance that you are buying a full power, fully guaranteed UK spec product and not one imported direct from the Continent where power levels are lower. We DO NOT carry out warranty work on these “grey imports”. There you go, My HW also has the Hull stamp and i knew it was to do with the fact that they are the only official importers, but i never knew that they power checked and guaranteed it too. Guess thats a good guideline for anyone thinking of buying a WH second hand, make sure it has the Hull name on it! Guess thats a good guideline for anyone thinking of buying a WH second hand, make sure it has the Hull name on it! They power check it, be sure. The reason to do that, is becouse original GERMAN HW's, only have the 5.5 Fpe spring on board, wich is far BELOW UK limits. (Germany power limit: 7,5 joule/5.5 Fpe) If I (Belgium, no power limits) order an airgun in Germany, they always send the original full power (14/15 fpe) spring with the gun (as a spare). I can imagine you cant order a gun at the importers in Hull, so maybe all gunsmiths have the job to bring it up to Uk limits? No idea. Westcountryman
I have never seen a HW thats not stamped Hull Cartridge,Apart from an old HW35 i had which was pre Hull cartridge.Do grey imports exist? Hull are the importers mate. I have a grey import HW77. I bought it myself in Germany and brought it back. No HC stamp and the gunsmith that sold it to me popped a "British" spring in it for me. Buying a used HC stamped gun is near enough meaningless, as the previous owner could have done whatever they want with it. HW 77s are excellent rifles, although on the heavy side. Make sure you handle one before purchasing it or you could be in for a shock.
