Bloke
Took the new gun for it's first outing today, smiles all round. Stand One -left, right, pair - Smoked, excellent! Open the gun, cartridges eject ok, insert fresh load, close gun - it won't close! Take out the cartridges - gun closes ok, put cartridges back, closes ok, two more clays smoked! Eject-new cartridges-gun won't close Now there are five of us looking at it, every time fresh cartridges are inserted after ejection, the bottom ejector and cartridge jam open and are marking the face! Dave the instructor says 'no more' and I abandon the round . OffI go to Euroguns, where I got it from. the salesman fires about 5 cartridges - no problem. I put one of my Eleys in - jammed again It looks like the slight lip on the cartridge between the metal base and the plastic shell is jamming the return of the ejector, so it has to go off to Browning, to decide what to do. All credit to Euroguns, they are being great about it, but what are the odds??? Never mind, I love the gun, breaking clay straight out of the box, hopefully this is a tiny problem with a quick and lasting fix = I'll let you know. Bloke
True You could have threatened to hit the guy in Euroguns with it if he had not been prepared to sort it :o I never had this problem with the S/B martine action Greener, back in the 70's! Thanks Guys, for the sane advice! Where were you all when I chose it? - having couselling for Hatstand dependance? :( :( Never mind - it will be fixed (I hope!), then I can really show you how badly I can shoot! :o
Bloke
Mind you - if you knew how bad I was, you would only go and tell, wouldn't you? :( Never mind, if all else fails, I can always use the gun to knock nails in with, I suppose! Bloke
Update - idiot's log, stardate now. Well, Euroguns were as good as their word, Browning returned the gun within the week. Browning's gunsmith couldn't find any problem with the gun and said they had done nothing with it, yet the gun had failed multiple times with various cartridges for me, the instructor and the salesman Anyway, out I went and put two full boxes of carts down it - sure enough, no problem! I don't think I was smoking anything illegal, but the gun certainly has no problems now, maybe Browning have special 'gun elves' that sort problems out when the gunsmith is asleep (Or maybe they sorted it out and didn't tell me what it was). Anyway all is well that ends well, all I have to do is learn to shoot it now! Another mystery for the PW Area 51 files, I think.
