cocker3
got a call today from one of my perms could i sort out some deer for him so of i set and arrived at 6.30 pm after a coffee and a chat with the farmer set offat 7pm with the info i needed. he had seen quite a few roe coming out of a gully at one end of the farm close to a main road (400 yards or so)i set off into the wind and headed alomg the to of the gully to where i was going to sit up .about 100 yrd along the top of the gully i spotted 2 does feeding about 50 yrd infront of me and 30 feet below the crest of the gully. thought there might be a buck close by so watched for a coulpe of mins then saw him lying by a fallen tree could just see his head and neck. so back tracked to the start( 100yrds) and cut across to the other side of the gully (nackered by this point its a bloody big gully for my small legs ) stalked along the other side to where i had marked him he was still there got my self into a shooting position and waited for him to move .20 min passed and he started to stur after a couple of mins more one of the does took off for no reason that i could see and up he got and then down he went to a sako 22.250 right in the neck he was about 130 yrds when i shot him but as i sat up i noticed the other buck sitting under a holly bush about 70 yards further along the gully he was massive i never even seen him till he got up but hes there for the another time. the buck weighed 44.6 lb larder weight nice buck to start the season .
