ok lads i have a bsa tactical and all of a sudden i can not group my shots . at 20 yards i can just about keep a 5 shot group in side a 4 inch circle and then there all over the place

up in till now i could keep a 1 inch group at 30 yards but things have gone weird

the spring seems ok and has still got a lot of power . i have not changed my pellets . have fired around 5 tins since i have had the gun from new so about 3000 pellets

i have not cleaned the barrel as i have always been told not to clean a air rifle barrel or a .22 rifle barrel

could the barrel need a clean??? has any one had the same problem with a air rifle aspecialy the bsa tacktical <**** gun>

have you checked your silencer it might be getting cliped by pellets .

take it off then try again .

refit silencer try again.

I suspect that's what it is . I remember Reading about an oring on a BSA silencer that needs taking of where silencer joins barrel.

cheers lads after doing all of the above the gun was still firing the same so i went back to the pellets for a second look the pellets were logon penatrators a new tin i had already checked them but thought i would have another look and compare them to another tin i have and it turns out the pellets are deformed which is hardly noticeable well i would not say deformed but where the head comes back down to the body and turn in there not clean looks like a bad batch will post a pitcher later

any way back to sighting it in and the gun is back to normal

cheers
