Reload
Hi folks, Do any of you use a dog to mark warrens that are in use before you bother netting up or deciding to move to the next? If so what is the best breed to use? Do they do it naturally or will it have to be trained? My daughter keeps pestering me to let her have a dog, and I'm thinking we could kill 2 birds with 1 stone here. I'm assuming a terrier would fit the bill nicely. Your thoughts appreciated. Magus69
My Black Fell bitch marks warrens with bunnies at home. Many years ago I had a Hancock bred ColliexWhippet/greyhound and he was amazing at it as he also possessed the turn of speed and agility needed to nail the bolters that exit from the bob hole that usually goes unspotted and un-netted,also when at home he became a fireside rug unlike my totaly hyper little Terror (not mis-spelled)bitch. monkeyboots
ive a whippet that will only mark holes that have rabbits in them so if he dosent mark i dont put the ferret in same as when i had the lurchers if they didnt mark a fox hole the terrier didnt get entered
