kighill
General question for anyone who uses a larsen trap with regards to feeding the call bird. I am feeding mine on tinned dog food, the odd egg and a little bread and a little wild bird seed containing raisins. I plan to include a little bit of pigeon and rabbit. Does anyone have a Magpie wonderfood? What do you feed? Cheers Happy hunting
harv
gut a rabbit and make an incision in rear legs it will last a good few days, fur is better than feather with regard to non target species

trxnav
was using dog food mate but with three traps going was getting a bit expensive so gone back to the slit open rabbit trick seems to do fine but can get a bit messy

kighill
Thanks everyone, I have tried the pigeon today but the Magpie did not touch it (I will leave it in for a few days). I like the idea of ferret food/poultry/pheasant pellets due to the lack of smells and flies. I will also try the slit rabbit. Please keep your suggestions coming. rabbit killer
just get value bread and give it a slice a day. no flies so it will live longer
