Shells I've never seen before!

Recommended Posts

If I knew what had gone wrong with 'Photobucket' I'd post a pic of the shells I obtained today.

About forty-five years ago, I purchased some Eley 'TWO INCH' shells. Desription: Paper, Orange tube, rolled turnover, with shot size, brass head and brass percussion cap in brass battery cup. Headstamp was 'Eley-Kynoch' with '12' each side of the ICI stamp. Pretty standard for that time.

Today! WOW! Paper; brick red tube; EBL shield with 'ELEY 20TH CENTURY CARTRIDGE For 2 INCH CHAMBERED GUNS. Made in Great Britain.' Rolled turnover, 'SMOKELESS DIAMOND 6' Brass head, ELEY-KYNOCH 12 either side of the ICI stamp with a COPPER percussion cap in a brass battery cup.

Anyone seen them before?

You can still buy Eley "2 inch " cartridges in a grocery shop that sells cartridges in Binham Norfolk. £5.50 a box last time I looked.

Hi there

Yes I have seen them before, what are you doing with them - Not shooting them off I hope, these are very old, worth more as a collectors item than shooters, I would be interested in some for my collection if any going spare
