HDAV
it should have steel proof mark fleur de lys (look it up) some steel carts claim to be safe for all guns (not sure my self) you should also only use half choke or less.
Wrighty112
I've heard if the steel shot is fired with a plaz wad it's fine in any gun as the steel doesn't come in contact with the barrel however if ya gun is fixed choke to 1/2 maybe 3/4 it will he ok'ish but but never on full coke as u might damage ya gun...I only heard this in passing. Can someone confirm this?
BigG
Current thinking is no more than 1/2 choke irrespective of fixed or multi. Steel will only come in plastic wad as the barrels need to be protected from the steel. Watch out for pimples on the cartridge if a stray pellet is on the outside of the wad it will score the barrel, personally I would steer well clear of steel I just don't think the cost benefit out ways potential problems. I believe we should vehemently challenge any suggestion of banning lead, we should at least be able to choose. Rgds G
utectok
As far as I'm aware all 2 3/4 inch shotguns can shoot standard steel carts through less than 1/2 choke with a shot size less than 3.25mm (Feo 4) see http://www.gamebore.com/page.php?id1=2&id2=6 also http://www.hullcartridge.co.uk/products/ga...eel_game_12.cfm 3" steel carts require a fluer de leys steel proof

vampire
Gamebore 24g 7.5 is fine through my old guns (2,baikals and a salle) because it is such a light load and dense pattern all contained in the plastic wad
