turbo33
Finally got around to removing all that horrible ronseal type varnish from my medallist. Found a resonable piece of wood under there when the varnish was off. Nitro mors strip down and rinse off, removed/ raised all the small dents and imperfections. Several coats of caseys tru oil gunstock finish rubbed down with wire wool between each coat. Then a final rub down with wire wool to matt the gloss finish of the caseys and a rub over with walnut oil. It looks much better than before. The caseys is a little bit varnish like in its behaviour and finish. I think next time I will try something different....maybe even redo this one just for the hell of it. Didn't do a before pic but this has been covered before. Usual story, its a bit better than the pics.
smig4373
If you finish it off with Casey's stock sheen and conditioner..It takes the glare and varnish like finish off it....It also makes it water and finger-print proof....

Marcus
Looks a nice finish, a job well done. I did the same to my medalist some time back and got rid of the 'orange varnish'.
