humperdingle
I assumed the 17 bullet head was tiny.17g of muscle http://www.youtube.com/user/gunvidder#p/u/5/pDSf0qbhjLE Don't forget that inside the copper jacket (and underneath the light polymer tip) there is a bit of a cavity, which - When the bullet stinkes - helps to fragment the bullet. So it's not entirely solid under the jacket. Not a huge cavity, but the polymer tip takes up a fair amount of the volume too. There are cross-section pictures here: http://www.varmintal.com/17hmr.htm
hyflier
"Here's one I destroyed earlier" Going on one more video from bodgit and scarper, no you can't fire a .17hmr bullet from a .177 air rifle cos its smaller The hmr bullet is .172 cal If you have a look at my other thread V-Max bullet properties, I had a reply from Hornady about the bullet, the air gap is compressed by the polymer tip when it strikes, which causes the very thin copper jacket to burst open which is why your target absorbes all the ft lbs energy. I think its a brilliant round, for the small vermin shooter, its what we've been waiting for. Now........ if they could sell them at a reasonable price
