pixie
Went to some land with Binos to have a look around about 14.00 hrs. and found a family of foxes sunbathing. Asked the farmer what he wanted done and it was positive. Went back about 17.00 hrs and they had disappered so I sat down in the bushes and waited. After a while a fox appeared from a distance away and made its way through the field of long grass to the entrance to the den somewhere among the bushes at the fields edge. It stopped at the wire fence for a minute which proved fatal. 75 yards. I waited a while then went to pick it up having unloaded the rifle and left it there. As I approached a cub ran out, looked at me and ran back to the den. I should have taken the 12g instead of the .17HMR,and yes it is on my ticket for Foxes. This Vix was not the mother, it was not suckling anything and I reckon it was one of last years coming back to see the family. Footnote I have to wait to catch the rest now on adjoining land as a resident nearby which adjoins this large field has complained to the land owner about me shooting, albeit safely, police informed URN no. obtained etc etc.. and I can't shoot there anymore after about 4 years. SSS
you say its on ya ticket ,being new and only having my shot gun licence i saw a fox couple of days ago (first one ) am i not allowed to shoot them with a shot gun You can shoot it with your shotgun, dont worry about that. With FAC you have conditions stating what you can use your rifle for, and to shoot foxes legally with your rifle, you have to have a condition which says Fox and vermin. Hope that helps

soreshoulder
is it a lot harder to get a fac generally yes, you have to fill in more paper work and there are more conditions such as checking land etc.
