HDAV
Hi chaps I have just picked up a "Midland Gun Co" 12G OU Its a model 502s made in italy (not by midland in birmingham then!) the action when broken has a lump that sticks out the left hand side, not seen this before and wondered if anyone else had, will post pics tomorrow. I was told the gun might be a Sabatti, but cant see one like it now (has Gardone & Brescia proof marks) and is from 1985 if that helps... Spec is 28" vented top & side rib, nickel/silver finish to action file cut top rib, Choked at 3/4 & 1/4 Signle selective trigger auto ejector. Sound familiar? Also but plate has 3 circles on it (logo of anyone?) Help and links appreciated please. I promise one day i will just buy a gun made by the company on the label that have a catalogue and are still in business!

Unfortunatley the bit that sticks out the side is quite common as is the but pad with 3 circles on!
Andy H
If the three circles are a proof mark then it was proofed in eibar in spain and means "Final black powder proof for single and double barrel muzzle loading shotguns. Minimum proof pressure is 8534 psi". but as yours is not a muzzle loader then ?? Edited May 12, 2010 by Andy H

Hardwoods Green
Brescia is the town and Gardone the region they are made. More than likely built in the early 80's it could be a Breda, Marrochi (Mistral), Midland,Sabbati (as you have been told).
Long Eye
Have a look on the top barrel, just in front of the chambers and see what it says. My dads Sabbati has the circles on the butt pad.
HDAV
Thanks from memory it says Midland Gun Co the chambers are sort of scalloped (curve up to meet the action) it that the same on the Sabbati?
