kyska
Hi All, I've just invested in a SGC, and have also paid for a shotgun. My cert hasn't arrived yet, could be weeks I suppose, but my brother in law can collect the gun for me and hold it in his cabinet. Whats the legality about me shooting it without him with me? Noob question, new to shotguns!

Noob question, new to shotguns! If without him, you mean him dropping you somewhere you have permission to shoot and then leaving only to return later to pick you up, then I am not sure. If you are thinking about driving anywhere or being in a public place with the shotgun on your own, then if you get pulled over, "my ticket is in the post" will not hold up! Think of the risks, just wait a few days!

Thanks Libs, I know the usual laws, I have FAC, we all live on the land of the farm, It'd be, metaphorically going across the road to the house and collecting the gun on the land we own. Just wondering if I can wander off on my own without the SGC holder with me? FAC says as long as you're in earshot, shotgun would give me miles of legs. magman
You can borrow a shotgun for 72 hours without it being on your ticket  But you need to hold a valid SGC Edited May 12, 2010 by magman
