DoubleTap
Just got a new springer spaniel puppy, Tara, black and white, 8 weeks 1 day, 4.38kg :o She was excellent in the car journey back, didnt cry about leaving her 6 brothers and sisters and mum :o Just been down the vets for her jabs, didnt cry or jump, very good. Really pleased with her and cant wait till the season for her to get retrieving and flushing next to Ellie, 3 year old liver and white, who is sat on the sofa feeling sorry for herself :o Hopefully add a few pics soon, Cheers

I cannot wait to get her out and start her off, although I most likely will not use her until the 2011 season starts. Where do you take your dog for training or do you do it all yourself? I am not to far away from you and was thinking of going to Dukeries gundogs.

Dad will do all of the training by himself like he did with our other one up the farm and in the field behind our house but thats not to stop you from getting her trained by someone else :o hope everything goes well mate

pegleg31
dukerie's gundog's is held at blythe just south of doncaster. if you're a complete novice i'd say go you'll learn a little it's held on wednesday evening's at 6/6:30pm ish? and on sunday morning's at 10am?.it's held in a field just past the cricket pitch, there's no sign's so if you're early you'll find it hard to find. one thing it is good at is socialising your dog as there's a few people go and it's around £3/5? it's cheap but people who have been going for a while seem to get all the attention.but it really is basic training, heel, sit, stay a little bit of retrieving and some directional work but very little. having said that it's where i started off and found it useful at first,as soon as i got so far i went for one on one lesson's.
