Benellimelody
Well on Monday i thought i would give DTL a try for the first time at my local ground. I've heard a lot about it being as exiting as watching paint dry but to be honest i quite enjoyed it. I had 2 attempts and shot 62/75 then 56/75. On the first go i shot the first 13 clays straight (First barrel) then seemed to loose concentration and go to pot and the second time was similar. How do you think i did on my first time? Ive bet my brother that next week i'll get in the 70's (modest i know lol) but its just daft banter, however would like to do it I am also entering a couple of comps. (Not big but they will mean a bit to me) soon which contain the DTL discipline and am wondering if any of you have any tips? I am using half and half chokes and think they do the trick. I shot Gun mounted but should i try gun down and how do you guys help stay focused? Thanks Edited May 27, 2010 by Benellimelody
MJN
DTL is normally shot gun up, depending on which position you are on, then your initial point of aim will differ, starting with the left corner of the trap house on *** 1 to the right corner of the trap house on *** 5. Concentration is key. HTH M. Edit: I would go for SKEET chokes . Edited May 27, 2010 by MGMan

Bigweed
Am I missing something here ? (apart from the clays)M. You need a lot tighter choke than SKEET for DTL
humperdingle
I've heard a lot about it being as exiting as watching paint dry but to be honest i quite enjoyed it. That's what I thought when sitting watching a group shoot... Looked pretty dull. Tried it myself for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and it was actually pretty good! Think I shot 65/75 and my mate (also 1st go) shot 72/75! Will definitely have another go at some point.
MJN
so apart from alot tighter no recommendations then. all I can go on is experience. shooting single barrel (no sedond chance) I found full was to tight, if I had the choice I would have been on CYL.
