Redgum
I have a mate who uses federal ammo in 243, I have collected a few privi cases as I have read they are good but are the federals worth giving a go, obviously they need to be loaded seperatly, do the federal cases have a long life. Vince Green
Yes Federal is a good make and will be good for reloading. Just don't automatically assume that the same powder charge will be OK in in the federal cases as the Privi cases. Back off a couple of grains to start off with in the Federal cases and then work up. You will have to full length resize them (probably) if they have been fired in a different rifle the first time you load them. However, try them for size first with just a neck size before you go ahead and load them, you may just be lucky.
Browning
I bought some Federal factory ammo when I first started shooting .243, just to get me going. I managed to get 5 reloads out of the cases before necks started to split.
