kyska
Anyone help me out, what type of money should I be paying for a Beretta 686 SPECIAL 20g, fixed choke. Don't know much about it, other than its mint, really clean. Barrel marks look like a 1993, still really tight, no marks in the bores. RFD says it 'owes' him £600, and would take an offer on it (its not on the rack yet, I just asked about if he had any 20b knocking about), but hasn't made any inclination of what a sensible offer would be, I would of thought most dealers would want to make a couple of hundred quid on a gun, or is that too much? I already have a Beretta 20g, that cost me £850, which wasn't a bad price for what it is, but can't seem to find any info on the 686 special. Brake his arm off if I was you Thats it though mate, it owes him £600, so he's going to want more for it than that, I just don;t know what is a reasonable price, he'll do me a good deal as I've bought all 5 of my guns from him. I have it on a 72 hour, some pics here.

It is hard to buy these guns at the moment, I had one the same, traded it in for EELL, went back the next day to but it back because I changed my mind, I think most dealers have a waiting list for beretta's like this. I would stretch to £800 and still be happy with the deal I think, if you can get it for less, it has to be a bargain, lokks very tidy! fluke2
I fell into the same trap with a dealer on a mint browning 325 he said it stood him 850 and let me take it and try it out, there was an advert for the same model gun advertised on the clay club wall for 725 when I rang the number the guy was there at the club and it turned out to be his gun the dealer loaned me, worse still the guy had only been offered 600 for the gun part ex and was waiting for a call after they tested his gun, the guy rang him and screamed a few obscenities for half an hour and I ended up with the gun for 700 quid. 250 + profit if Id bought it from the dealer for doing nothing at all the guy had just dropped it off the night before.Start low 600 you can always go up never down. Sorry forgot nice BERETTA worth every penny Edited June 26, 2010 by fluke2

shootreview
You will probably know this but the only way to date a Beretta is from the proof mark but this only states when the barrels went for proof so it could be later when it ended in the shop.
